1.Taking Pictures of Everyday Life. Many of the most captivatingfeatures of travel are taking note the contrasts between daily life in your vacation destination versus everyday life back back where your home is Snapshots of the local people at work reveal much concerning their special culture. Taking pictures of local local vehicles, like buses and trains, can capture the exotic taste of a faraway land.To get the best results, be sure to correctly frame them.
Regardless, before taking pictures of persons, first find out how the people in that country feel about their photos being snapped. I often travel to Honduras, and the people there appreciate having their pictures taken, particularly photos of their young children. However, I discovered this past summer that the French people do not like their picture to be taken. What they really find offensive is for a stranger to take photos of children. Therefore, be sure to find out what the local customs are and follow them.
2. Town Squares and Markets.to snap candid photos of people relaxing. The local market is another place where you can find people in their normal, everyday settings. In fact, not only do the buyers and sellers in the market make good subjects, but the fruits and vegetables and other goods being sold can capture the local flavor.
3. Candid Photography. Oftentimes people will be glad to pose for pictures, but I prefer unposed shots of people when I’m on a trip. I try to always be respectful, not only to respect the customs of an area, but also not to capture a photo of a person in such circumstances that it would be offensive to that person. Usually the easiest means to take such candid photographs is by using a mid-range telephoto lens (roughly 100 mm to 200 mm). With such a lens, I have discovered that my subjects aren’t aware that they are being photographed. As you can see, having the proper camera equipment helps alot.
4. Discover What Is Unusual.Regardless of whether you are in a distant place or just a different part of your own state, try to discover what is unusual and special about the place that you are traveling through. Of course, if it is a famous location, you will want to take photos of the familiar places of interest. However, please don’t quit at that point. Try to capture aspects of the place that are not as famous, but which made an impression on you. Landscape photography in a distant country takes on a unique element, as you explore landscapes that are very different from what you are familiar with.
5. Emphasize the Exotic With Digital Color. You shouldn’t be afraid of using of vivid colors in your travel photos, particularly if you’re in an exotic place. Capture deep blue skies and bright flowers. Snap photos of people in colorful clothing. I love taking photographs when I travel to Honduras because the Hondurans love bright colors. Hondurans prefer not to paint their trucks with the bland colors of most trucks in the U.S. Rather, they are often striped with bright blue, red, and yellow.
